Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan battle it out for SRK’s next movie

Shah Rukh Khan is in the lookout for a lead actress for his next film. To be directed by Priyadarshan, the film will have SRK playing himself. Irfan Khan is also supposed to play a crucial role. According to the grapevine, Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan are strong contenders for the role. While Shah Rukh has delivered quite a few hits with Rani, Priyadarshan swears by Vidya’s talent. That’s one reason why the selection procedure has turned out to be such an ordeal for the actor-director duo. The yet-untitled film will be produced under SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and will be a first for him with Priyadarshan. Shooting is set to commence by April 2008 as the latter wants to wrap up his film with Akshay Kumar, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, by then. Who will emerge victorious in this battle, we wonder.
