Rani in Ta Ra Rum PumActress Rani Mukherjee will be seen in a completely new avatar in the forthcoming Yash Raj film Tara Rum Pum .

According to designer Surily Goel and hair stylist Dilshad, Rani has never looked so glamourous in any other Bollywood film as she does in Siddharth Anand ’s ‘Tara Rum Pum’.

Surily chose many chic western outfits for Rani’s character in the film. Many times, when the film was being shot in New York, Surily and Rani would go out shopping together. They would together select Rani’s dresses, tops, skirts, boots and handbags.

To top it all, Rani lost extra weight and got in a svelte figure before shooting the film. This made her look stunning in the outfits chosen for the film.

Surily says she wanted to give Rani a very modern, up-market and slightly sexy look in the first half of the film. For the second half, Rani was given somewhat sober and elegant dresses.

On the other hand, hair-stylist Dilshad gave Rani a fringe haircut that suited the actress very much. Rani has never had such type of haircut in the past.

What impressed Surily the most about Rani was that she trusted her (Surily’s) judgment.

“Rani had no airs of a star. She patiently waited for me to come up with an ensemble. For one song in the movie, I had eight different dresses in mind for her. But I had to choose the best one to go along with the song. Rani waited patiently until I came up with the best dress,” says Surily.

‘Tara Rum Pum’ tells the story of a married couple whose lives are thrown off-track after an unfortunate accident. The film has Saif Ali Khan playing a car racer. Rani plays his wife. The couple has two children in the movie.

The film is slated for release on April 27.
