Bhojpuri cinema gave me the respect, recognition and money: Ravi Kishan
Patna: The Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan, is not only a very famous personality in the Bhojpuri film industry, but also a known face in the Indian television industry. He says he is very emotional and has high self-respect. He is a simple person and his superstar status does not bother him, he is very grounded. Ravi says he started his filmi career at the age of 17, after running away from his family in UP. He had just 500 rupees in wallet when he reached Mumbai. He worked first in the B-grade movie “Pitambar” with which he earned 5000.
And after he worked in the film “Tere Naam” people got to know him. Then a time came when he was not getting any luck in Bollywood and hence accepted the offer of a Bhojpuri flick. He asked his mother’s permission before doing the Bhojpuri flick and that film changed his life, he became a Bhojpuri superstar. He got recognition, earned money and changed the lifestyle of his parents too.
And the superstar status, helped him to get a chance in Big Boss. He even worked in films by Shyam Benegal and Mani Ratnam. Ravi says his father who never supported his ambitions of becoming an actor, has been immensely helpful in instilling the values of life in him.
