Akshay Kumar: I am accustomed to commercial success but not critical acclaim
Mumbai: Latest flick by Akshay Kumar has left him amazed and he is amused to say the film has brought out the actor in hero for the audience. However, Akki enjoys if the audience dance along with him in the isle. Akshay has spent almost 24 years in Bollywood and did as many as 125 films in his career as an actor. He says this is the first time in his career that his “acting chops” have been identified and so the actor himself says “Special 26” is his best film he has done in his career.
He says he is comfortable and accustomed with commercial success and hits but not to critical acclamation. He is surprised to get recognition from his critics even who never had written a single good word about him previously. Akki added that “Special 26” gave him a chance to rediscover the actor in himself. Interestingly when the film was offered to him initially, the commercially successful superstar Akshay declined it.
He could not understand the film well first and that is why he did not accept it first, as the film is full of twists and turns. But later when the film maker came back and explained to the actor the subject of the film, Akki was smart enough to understand the prospect of the movie and could not but accept it as soon as possible.
