Shahid Kapoor turns police officer
Mumbai: Bollywood’s young and handsome hero Shahid Kapoor who donned many lover boy roles, decided to turn tough cop in his next film. Buzz is Shahid Kapoor has given his nod to star in ‘A Wednesday’ director Neeraj Pandey’s next directorial venture. Sources reveal that Shahid, for the first time ever, will be seen in a police uniform in this film. This will set a trend in Bollywood as genex star is turning tough cop for the first time in the industry.
Shanti Sivaram, who handles Shahid’s work on behalf of Bling! Entertainment Solutions, confirming the news said, “Yes, Shahid Kapoor will be seen in khaki uniform for the first time.”
Neeraj Pandey, who received lots of critical acclaim for his first directorial film ‘A Wednesday’ is also expected to give his marvel touch to the cop drama. A source close to Neeraj said “The anticipation of seeing Shahid as a cop gets doubled when Neeraj is added to the mix. He is known for making films in this genre with great aesthetics.” Shahid is quite busy this year working in Prabhudeva’s “Namak”, pairing with Sonakshi Sinha. Then there is Rajkumar Santoshi’s “Phata Poster Nikla Hero” opposite Ileana D’cruz.
On the other hand, Neeraj is yet to finish his another directorial film ‘Special Chabbis’ starring Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. The movies based on the robbery, is going to be released in February, 2013. So, his Shahid Kapoor starrer will go on floors only by the next March.
