Rakhi Sawant’s tantrums on Raksha Bandhan
Mumbai: Before three years ago, she used to celebrate Raksha Bandhan enthusiastically. But after getting converted into Christianity, she has stopped celebrating the special occasion. She also does not believe in any Hindi rituals and customs nowadays. Rakhi Sawant denies having any relationship with anybody on earth, only accrediting her hard-work for the success she has achieved today.
While brother Rakesh Sawant still hopes that Rakhi would return to the Sawant family and celebrate the Raksha Bandhan with him. He is hopeful that Rakhi would gradually realise that her family is with her through thick and thin, and will be supporting her unconditionally always.
Rakesh recalls an incident when Rakhi was already a famous name in the industry. He was studying and stayed at boarding and due to Rakhi’s busy schedule she could not meet him for years. And when his friends started teasing him, Rakesh prayed to God and hoped that his sister would come to him, and finally on the day of Raksha Bandhan in 1991 Rakhi came to her brother to tie Rakhi.
Rakesh says Christianity has made Rakhi more calm and peaceful, but it was due to Rakhi’s ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi’s influence that the item queen detached herself from her family three years back.
