Ajay Devgan-Kajol’s Movie for social cause against female foeticide
Mumbai: Bollywood couple Ajay Devgan and Kajol are coming up after a long time to do a short film on female foeticide, to educate people bringing awareness as a part of Maharashtra government’s initiative to curb the burning problem. Ajay and Kajol, who have a nine-year-old daughter, have associated themselves with the Maharashtra government’s campaign against female foeticide and are making a film on the issue.
The actors are making this in their capacity as brand ambassadors for the state government’s Save the Girl Child campaign, a responsibility the actors accepted last year. Ever since, doing this film was always part of the plan.
Ajay interacting with media said, “We are working on the script at the moment and should be ready to roll it within a month or so. Both Kajol and I will be part of this, and we will speak about female foeticide.” Many feel they are inspired by Amir Khan touching the subject on his popular reality show ‘Satyameva Jayathe’. Recently, actor Aamir Khan had raised the topic of female foeticide in the first episode of his TV show Satyamev Jayate. A number of cases of female foeticide recently came to light from Beed, Solapur and Latur districts of Maharashtra. Currently both of them are busy promoting their upcoming film ‘U,Me and Hum’.
