The remake of ‘Zanjeer’ is going to hit the production floor on 13th of May and director Lakhia hasn’t got the female lead for the film yet. Ram Charan Teja, Chiranjeevi’s son is going to be the male lead in the film, stepping into Amitabh’s shoes.
There were rumours that Big B is having a part in the film but Lakhia informed that he hadn’t approached the superstar for the role yet. Apoorva has worked with Amitabh earlier in films like ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Mumbai se aaya mera dost’ and ‘Ek ajnabee’ and wishes for his presence again in this film.
Rumours were there that Priyanka Chopra has been confirmed to be the female lead in the movie but when asked Apoorva about it, he said that he is still searching for it and anyone is not yet confirmed for the part. He said that in the original ‘Zanjeer’, the female lead played by Jaya Bachchan has a key importance and its own essence. He wants to be sure that the role is essayed the way the script demands. Hence the director is taking his time.
