Mahesh Bhatt speaks about ‘Blood Money’
Mumbai: Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Blood Money’ directed by Vishal Mahadkar will be out soon, the scheduled release date is 30th of March, 2012. Mahesh it seems is not very happy with the current title. If he had had his way, the film would have been titled ‘Kalyug 2’ instead of ‘Blood Money’.
Indeed he meant to, but was forced to relent after being staunchly opposed by director Vishal and actor Kunal Khemu. The justification they gave is quite sensible. The Bhatt camp is already making ‘Raaz 3’, ‘Murder 3’, ‘Jism 3’, ‘Ashiqui 2’; so it made sense to try and keep an original title like ‘Blood Money’.
‘Blood Money’ is the story of a small-time boy (Kunal Khemu) who elopes with his girl (actress Amrita Puri of ‘Aisha’ fame) to Cape Town where he enters into a diamond exporting business but slowly, without even realizing it, he gets entangled in the dark, gritty underworld.
This storyline bears resemblance to ‘Kalyug’ by the fact that the latter had the hero up against the porn industry while now in ‘Blood Money’, the hero is up against the diamond mafia.
