Shahrukh Khan talks about his role in Don 2
Jaipur: It was the negative characters that he played in films like “Baazigaar”, “Anjaam”, “Darr” which made way for Shah Rukh Khan to be the Badshah of Bollywood eventually. This time he is back with “Don 2 – The King is back”. It was “Baazigaar” a thriller by Abbas Mustan which made SRK so popular, and then came Yash Chopra’s “Darr” where SRK played the role of an obessed lover in love with Juhi Chawla. And in “Anjaam” too he played the role of baddie.
SRK says anything evil attracts people. And he started his career as a theatre actor where there was no such roles like a hero. “Don 2” is the sequel of Farhan Akhtar’s “Don : The chase begins again” in 2006. The sequel will be out in theatres on 23rd of this month. It has also got Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Om Puri insignificant roles. SRK says there is always a question in mind while doing such negative roles, that whether audience will like it. But then being an actor he needs to experiment constantly with the characters onscreen and has to risk it.
But then in reality there are more bad things happening, which are shown onscreen in a more regulated way, so negative people are not a new thing for audience. Shahrukh also advises that filmi characters are only meant for films, and in real life no one must follow it.
