Freida Pinto and her tiff with Bengal Journalists
Kolkata: Freida Pinto became an international star after she starred in The movie “Slumdog Millionaire” as the character of Latika. When journalists from West Bengal were having a meet with Freida Pinto, she was asked to name the best film-maker of bengal cinema. The press meet happened one day after the screening of her movie named ‘Trishna’ directed by Michael Winterbottom. She named as her favorite Mrinal Sen, the legendary filmmaker from Bengal. When the media persons complained why she had not named Tapan Sinha and other great filmmakers, she said that she was asked to name one great stalwart from Bengal and not many.
This 27 years old young lady, is a hot favourite in Hollywood, though she has failed to earn any good movies in the Hindi film industry after the huge success of “Slumdog Millionaire” in 2008. Her other movies are “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger”, “Miral”, “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes”. Her two major releases of this year is “Trishna” and “Immortals”. This Mangalorean Beauty ever since childhood dreamt of becoming an actress and Sushmita Sen was her inspiration. Indeed Freida have miles to go in the tinsel town, her journey has just began, and she is continuously proving herself as an actress by doing different types of characters in films.
