Revolution 2020 – On Screen Adaptation
Mumbai: Contemporary writer Chetan Bhagat has tied up with UTV Motion Pictures for an onscreen adaptation of Revolution 2020. UTV has bought the movie rights of this book. It narrates the love story of friends namely Aarti, Raghav and Gopal. It is to be made into a drama based ambition, corruption and affection. Chetan Bhagat is most excited about this new venture. The book reached the common people in October 2011.
Now it is being made into a film. The film will have a long hard stand on the educational standards at the non – creamy centres and the rampant corruption prevalent at these places. It will have a love story on its backdrop. He tweeted that the twitter fans would suggest names for the three characters namely Aarti, Gopal and Raghav. He believes that UTV will be able to dramatize his book appropriately because it is a book close to his heart and soul.
The book is an extremely engaging one according to CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, Siddharth Roy Kapur. It had a very sharply defined characterization and will be identified by today’s youth. Chetan’s earlier books like “One Night @ Call Centre”. “Five Point Someone”, “2 States: Story of My Marriage” etc make for great reading.
