Nandita DasMumbai: Nandita Das is a well known actress-director. She showcases the misery of ladies who do not have a voice of their own.She is the first women of India whose name has been sent to International Hall Of Fame by International Women’s Forum (IWF). She is given the name as “thinking man’s actress”. She entered Washington ‘s famous National Building Museum at the age of 41. She achieved this feat at the night of 29th October, 2011.

 Selection committee headed by many world leaders had chosen her for contribution to the world of Indian art, culture and cinema.She is a completely authentic lady who has a lot of interest in keeping her focus.She has achieved a lot of prestige, name, fame at a very tender age.

She is a chairperson of Children’s film Society of India.She has avoided all sorts of controversy. She has always gone for roles which are not commercial.She played roles in art movies like “Fire”, “Earth”, “Bawander”. She feels that she has done what is natural to her temperament, status and nature. The film is about religious wars of 2002 in Gujarat. For the above film she was awarded with Filmfare.She was the main judge at the Cannes Film Festival,2005.She received award namely Knight Of The Order Of Arts And Letters by the French Government.
