Bollywood celebs are better off just watching a fashion show: Jacqueline Fernandez
Colombo: The Synergy 1 Delhi Couture Week came to an end recently with designer Gaurav Gupta showcasing his collection. Sitting in the front row, supporting the designer was actress Jacqueline Fernandez.
The beautiful actress was dressed Gaurav Gupta’s creation, a grey net saree with an off shoulder blouse. When asked why she didn’t walk on the ramp wearing the designer’s dress, the actress replied saying Bollywood celebs are better off sitting and watching a show rather than walking on the ramp. According to her, a fashion show is about the clothes and the designer’s talent and the celebrities walking on the ramp grab the limelight from designers. As Bollywood celebs, she feels they should support the designers by letting their garments speak for themselves rather than stealing their thunder.
Gaurav Gupta’s collection was inspired by enchanted forest and the garments consisted of pleats, drapes and ruffles. The silhouettes were mainly Indian, consisting of a blend of gowns, inspired by sarees and ghagras in hues of crème, pink, gold, green, turquoise, yellow and copper. The fabrics used were chiffon, georgette, tuile and net.
Accompanying the Sri Lankan beauty was Shakti Kapoor’s daughter, Shraddha Kapoor. She looked beautiful and elegant in a black and red gown, which too was a Gaurav Kapur creation.
