Delhi Belly Movie Review
A movie of the current genre, Delhi Belly is loaded with nearly 90 per cent of English dialogues. It is a story of three youth –partners-in-crime – Arup (Vir Das), Tashi (Imran Khan) and Nitin (Kunal Roy Kapoor) who have their own agendas in life. While Arup is torn asunder as to whom he should kill first – his bewafa girl friend who ditched him or his crazy-idea-ed boss, Tashi is uncertain of his fiance whom he is to marry in a month’s time.
And poor Nitin learns it the hard way about the perils of eating out at street corner vendors. The one common thing about them is they are on the periscope of the world’s most feared crime syndicate. The film revolves around these three blokes and the oomph factor is provided through Shehnaz Treasurywala and Poorna Jagannathan.
The director Abhinay Deo has done a creditable job in handling the twists and turns in the movie to keep it fast paced and at the same time laced with funny and comic scenes. Produced by the husband and wife pair of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, Delhi Belly also features an item song of Aamir which has become a run-away hit.
Delhi Belly, as a disorder is difficult to bear both for the sufferer as well as his neighbor, as a movie turns out to be a Director’s pride and competitors’ envy.
