Delhi Belly in legal trouble
Lucknow: Bollywood is witnessing movies of various genres these days, the latest one being ‘Delhi Belly’. The movie has been termed as one of the most interesting, wicked and sickest movie the year by critics and public alike. Such remarks have just spiked the interest of public and more people are going to watch it, which is definitely bringing a smile on the producers’ faces.
But, the movie has also been receiving back to back legal notices, the first one was for the ‘explicit’ lyrics in the song, ‘Bhaag DK Bose’, then it was criticised for the ample use of swear words. The movie has recently been slapped with a legal notice by The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad. Apparently, they have issued notices to the Department of Information and Broadcasting, Censor Board of Film Certification and Aamir Khan Productions challenging the public issue certification issued to ‘Delhi Belly’.
Issued by the bench consisting of Justice Uma Nath and Justice Anil Kumar, the petition seeks directions to quash the certification that allows the public exhibition of this film which released on July 1st.The respondents have to reply to the petition in a months’ time. According to the petition the movie has continual use of abusive, immoral and indecent language which is a clear violation of Section 5 B of the Cinematograph Act.
We will have to wait and watch to check how Aamir manages to get out of this one.
