Vikram Lamba arrested for carrying foreign goods
Mumbai, June 9: After Bollywood celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Minissha Lamba, Raj Babbar etc were detained at various national and international airports, it was Mallika Sherawat’s brother Vikram Lamba who got arrested at the Mumbai airport for carrying Euros and other foreign goods which had a value of 6 lakhs in the Indian currency. It was even said that Vikram was allegedly carrying branded apparels in his luggage while going back home. He was kept under custody by the customs officers and was booked under Foreign Exchange Management Act.
He was questioned regarding his illegal carriage for several hours and was set free after a very long time. Apparently he was coming back from Dubai to India. This is just not the only detention that has happened in one month but many other celebrities have been not only detained but have also been questioned for several hours. According to the Airport customs officers the law remains the same for every individual who carried unannounced/undeclared branded stuffs from other countries to India. Vikram Lamba is a Bollywood film producer who had landed in Mumbai airport from Dubai at around 8.30 in the morning. While Vikram Lamba was passing the green channel, he was intervened by an Assistant Commissioner from the customs department.
