Maqbool Fida Husain was to work with Madhuri Dixit again
London: Maqbool Fida Hussain, popularly known as M.F. Hussain passed away early morning of 9th June in London. The exiled octogenarian was known for his besottedness towards erstwhile Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit. He collaborated with Riku Rakeshnath to produce “Gaja Gamini” starring Madhuri. Ever since, he had been expressing his desire to do another film withher, but unfortunately his exile from the country and the migration of Madhuri to the U.S.A. after her marriage, has come in the way of fulfilling his desire.
An ardent lover of his native country, M F Hussain longed to be back to India from London but it was sad that this desire of his too remained unfulfilled. Amaverick painter and a fighter to the core, M F Hussain has lived most of hislife on his terms only to find himself literally rusticated from his nativecountry. Riku Rakeshnath bemoaned that M F Hussain had longed to make a comedy movie with Madhuri in the lead but his sudden death has put paid to his aspirations.
M F Hussain began his short film career by acting in “Mohabbat” – a film starring the Apple of his eye – Madhuri and Akshay Khanna. The man with the brush wanted to try out his hand behind the camera too and “Gaja Gamini” was the product. He was reportedly writing script for a comedy movie for the Dhak Dhak girl – Madhuri before sudden death grasped him awayfrom his pet project.
