Heroine out of Hiding
Mumbai: Plagiarism is a very important issue in Bollywood today. Every other day, someone or the other is accused of lifting or copying material without the owner’s permission. Film makers are very cautious about this. So it has now become a trend to guard the film sets fiercely to ensure that nothing leaks out. During the days of ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, it was a known fact that only a few key people had even seen the script.
So it is no surprise that director Madhur Bhandarkar has taken all precautions for his forthcoming Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Heroine’. The set is more like a fortress with 15 – 17 security guards. No mobile phones or cameras allowed. Madhur wants to keep every single detail under wraps.
The film is a woman centric story and traces the travails and trauma of being a Bollywood heroine. The script is said to have borrowed heavily from real life stories. So naturally there is a great curiosity about the film. Madhur wants to keep the audiences in suspense and not give away anything till the release date.
Also it marks a comeback of sorts for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after the debacle of ‘Action Replayy’. So she is also said to be keen that the project be kept under wraps till completion.
Unfortunately, that was not to be. The first look has been leaked on the Internet. Though reactions are still coming in, it appears that Madhur’s security measures were not sufficient.
But then when has it been ever possible to keep any ‘Heroine’ in Hiding? Never mind Madhur. Probably this is for the best.
