Bollywood classics can now be read
Mumbai: Movies like ‘Deewar’, ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’, and ‘Disco Dancer’ are few films which have given the bollywood film industry a complete new definition. Even though the movies belong to different categories, they became a super hit when released and were extremely popular amongst the audiences of that era. Not only that the popularity of the film and its dialogues are spoken about till date.
These three films are few of the classic movies made in bollywood. Now Hindi movie buffs have good news coming their way. Harper Collins, the famous book publishers in India have published a scholarly study of these movies under their category of India Film Series. Deewar was released in the year 1975 under the Yash Raj films banner. Deewar was one of the most powerful and important films of Amitabh Bachchan. His avatar of an angry young man became immensely popular. He then became an icon for the people in Mumbai (then Bombay). The story of two brothers with their worlds colliding with each other as they chose different paths in their life was made dear by hundreds of people. The famous dialogue of the movie ‘Mere Paas Ma hai’ has been copied, ridiculed funnily as well as used in other movies and works.
