Abhay Deol’s Affinity for Delhi
New Delhi: Though Mumbai is the capital of Bollywood, all our stars have a soft corner for Delhi. Superstars SRK and Akshay Kumar are originally Delhi dudes. Bollywood’s fascination with the capital has been seen with a number of Delhi centric films like ‘Dilli 6’. And this fascination shows no signs of abating. The most eagerly awaited film this season is ‘Delhi Belly’.
Abhay Deol a Punjabi munda, confesses that he has been to Delhi only on work. Abhay Deol shot two movies in Delhi – Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye’ and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’. Both the films did fairly well and more importantly, they proved Abhay’s talents and made him a name to reckon with in the industry. So maybe Delhi is a good luck charm for him.
Abhay was recently in Delhi for a promotional event. Abhay says that he has not had the opportunity to visit Delhi like other tourists do because of his hectic work schedule while there. However, he is happy with this because it has given him a different perspective on Delhi. He has been able to get under the skin of the Delhites.
Abhay is confident that has a fair idea how the people in particular regions of Delhi would react to different things. And for this, Abhay is thankful to his director Dibakar. According to Abhay, Dibakar knows the pulse of Delhi and was kind enough to share it with him for the film, ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’.
Good going Abhay. And we are happy to hear this different take on Delhi rather than usual praises of the roads and greenery.
