Aamir Khan, Danny Boyle join hands for Bombay Velvet
It looks like Danny Boyle has a strong Indian past life connection!
Danny is all set to make another Bollywood film, with Anurag Kashyap and Aamir Khan. This is going to be one of the biggest films ever made in India. The project, BOMBAY VELVET, is a 1960s period film, and the sets alone cost about Rs 17 crore. So with just the film’s sets costing that big a sum, one can only imagine how much expenses will incur for the entire movie.
Danny wants everything to be very realistic, as it is in Hollywood, where such sets take over a year’s time for preparation. Currently Danny is busy with his Oscar affairs (127 HOURS), but he will spring into action anytime soon after February 27.
But it does not come as a surprise that the makers of the film are going to this extent of expenditure, as all the three- Aamir, Anurag and Danny are considered to be Perfectionists, who want everything in place. The combo is great and we think that BOMBAY VELVET should be a treat for movie lovers.
Without trying to be over-optimistic, I have to pop up this question, will BOMBAY VELVET go for the Oscars too?
