Shreyas Talpade’s debut movie set to release
For those who think that ‘Iqbal’ was the debut film of Shreyas Talpade, here’s something interesting.
Shreyas’ debut film is not ‘Iqbal’, but ‘The Hangman’, where the actor shares screen with screen with veterans like Om Puri, Smita Jayakar and Gulshan Grover.
The release of ‘The Hangman’ got stuck for ages for some undisclosed reasons. Meanwhile, the Iqbal-boy made his mark in Bollywood with performances in films like ‘Dor’ and ‘Golmaal Returns’.
Now, ‘The Hangman’ is all set to hit the theatres this Friday (Jan 29). This will, however, be Shreyas’ first English film.
‘The Hangman’ is a dramatic film based on the trauma of a man Shiva (Om Puri) who is subjected to social wrath and hatred because of his profession.
Most of the people around him detest him as a result of which he is forced to live a lonely life. His only hope is his son Ganesh (Shreyas Talpade) and Shiva sends him away for higher studies.
As luck would have it, an accident takes place and plagues Shiva’s life again. He prepares for a hanging but this one would prove to be like none of the hundred, which he had performed before.
