To me Kismet Konnection is a magical love story: Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan was in Delhi on Tuesday to promote her upcoming film Kismet Konnection. CNN-IBN’s Reshil Charles spoke to the actress about her weighty issues and linkup with Shahid Kapur.
Vidya you have been getting a bit of flak over the last couple of weeks over how you have looked from your first film to now. Also there is talk about the weight that you have put on. Do you feel like lashing out on all those people who keep talking about your weight and how you dress up rather than looking at larger things?
(laughs) No, I don’t think so at all. These things used to bother me previously but now I get amused because there are pictures that they carry when I was 13 or 15 years old. And I was actually much bigger then so I think they have got their facts wrong.
You have also been asked this question a lot of times but tell us a bit about your latest film Kismet Konnection.
To me it is a magical love story. These days we are so caught up with superficialities and stress that we just overlook the simple moments in our lives. But Kismet Konnection is about those simple moments and that is why it is so special.
An average person who is not in the limelight can do whatever he wishes but the moment someone gives you a warm hug there is a whole lot of controversy. Does all this bother you?
Let’s face the fact that we are in the movie making business. We are to an extent larger than life so it is only obvious that people will be interested to know what is going on in our lives. And I definitely enjoy the space I am in and I have no regrets. Yes, sometimes the lines do get blurred but that happens all over the place and all the time.
What do think the future holds for you?
A couple of interesting projects on which I will start work very soon and most importantly the release of my film Kismet Konnection on July 18.
That’s great, you sound comfortable, look wonderful, so here’s wishing you a great year ahead.
