Whistling Woods International celebrates 1st anniversary
Whistling Woods International, one of Asia’s largest film television, animation and media arts institute, today celeberated its first anniversary at the Film City here.
Promoted by ace Bollywood director Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and Film City, the institute provides training on technical aspects of film-making, television, animation and other media arts as part of a two-year intensive hands-on training programme.
In his address to the students and faculty of the institute, Mr Ghai said the year gone by had seen tremendous growth and the institute was well on its way to creat successful future talent for the film and entertainment industry.
”The institute has offered state-of-the-art training facilities, and internationally-developed and structured curriculum, highly respected industry leaders and faculty, regular guest lectures by feted Indian and international film-makers and the best technology and the institutional partnership that India has seen till date,” he said.
The institute at present has some 220 students, with 20 per cent students from foreign countries.
While talking to UNI, Whistling Woods CEO Rahul Puri said ”We have a long way to go and lot of things to put in place. Our basic idea is to make the place into global creativity hub here. We are also in the midst of starting some short-term courses in different disciplines relating to film and television industry.” On this occasion, a host of Bollywood celebrities and other eminent personalities, including Govind Nihlani, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Manmohan Shetty, Farah Khan, Zayed Khan, Kumar Turani, were also present.
