Om Shanti Om
“I am tired of shouting over the rooftops that my film Om Shanti Om is not a remake of Karz”, said Farah Khan.
Following the success of her directorial debut Main Hoon Na, she is all set to begin her next film Om Shanti Om.
The film stars Farah’s good friend Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and is ready to go on floors on 7 January. “Shah Rukh essays the title role of Om in the film.”
“The movie will have the film industry in the background but it is definitely not a remake of the Rishi Kapoor starrer.”
When questiones about the numerous amount of remakes that are occuring these days she was quick to reply, “Unless and until I am exhausted mentally and intellectually I will not remake a film. I have stories to tell and I want to do just that.”
However, while the storyline may have nothing to do with Karz, one common factor between the films is that they will share a music director in Pyarelal.
While the duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal composed for Karz, Om Shanti Om will have Pyarelal doing the guest composition.
Farah says the first half of her film is set in the 1970′s so they have decided to recreate that era through a song. If word is to be believed, the song will possibly be sung by Sadhana Sargam and Abhijeet.
