Shahrukh Khan high with Emotions on Book Launch
Mumbai’s ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton hotel played host to a great many film and television stars when Mushtaq Shiekh’s new book, Still Reading Khan, a biography of Shah Rukh Khan was unvieled.
The book was launched by SRK, who became especially emotional when a video clip was shown of images of his childhood home in Delhi — the home where he lived with his parents prior to his move to Mumbai.
Shah Rukh said, “The best part of today’s function was when I saw my old house in Delhi. It brought back memories of my mom and dad. I wish they were alive to see how much importance is given to me.”
Additionally, the clip showed friends and colleagues of SRK, such as choreographer/director Farah Khan, actor/director Sajid Khan, producer Viveck Vaswani, filmmaker Subhash Ghai, director Farhan Akhtar, Juhi Chawla’s husband Jay Mehta and SRK’s sister, Shabeena Khan, spoke about the star and Mushtaq.
While they were full of praise for SRK, Sajid seemed to be most impressed with Shah Rukh’s ‘big house and big car.’ Later, the megastar laughed over Sajid’s comments, saying, “Sometimes I think that all I have is a big car and a big house, and nothing else.”
Once the book was launched, Shah Rukh invited his directors, Farah Khan, Aziz Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, Abbas-Mustan on stage to cut a a large cake with the image of the book cover on it.
